Program Structure
What you'll learn over 12 focused weeks
Each module introduces 3 to 5 specific techniques with guided practice routines. Sessions last 45 to 60 minutes and include demonstration videos with angle variations for self-correction.
The first 3 weeks establish proper foot alignment and teach you how to create 4 distinct sounds. You'll practice each sound in isolation before combining them into simple 8-count patterns.
- Heel drops and toe taps with weight distribution
- Shuffles at varying speeds with consistent volume
- Ball changes and their timing within phrases
- Basic time step as your first complete pattern
Weeks 4 through 7 introduce flaps, pullbacks, and cramp rolls. You'll learn to connect movements smoothly while maintaining rhythm clarity and develop your first 16-count choreographed sequence.
- Single and double pullbacks with landing control
- Traveling steps forward and backward
- Adding arm movements without disrupting foot patterns
- Syncopation and off-beat accents
The final 5 weeks push tempo variations and volume control. You'll work on rhythmic improvisation exercises and develop a 32-count routine that reflects your personal rhythm preferences.
- Triple time steps at increased speeds
- Dynamic contrast between loud and soft passages
- Call and response patterns for improvisation
- Final performance routine with music selection guidance
Practice format designed for independent learners
Every lesson includes video demonstrations from 3 camera angles, downloadable audio files for rhythm practice, and written breakdowns of each movement. You'll receive weekly feedback on submitted practice recordings and access to a private forum where 87 current students share progress and questions.
